Latest Healthgrades Accolades Help California Hospitals Observe Patient Safety Awareness Week
Prospect Medical’s California hospitals came out shining in the latest release of Healthgrades’ quality awards.
Foothill Regional Medical Center, Los Angeles Community Hospitals at Los Angeles and Norwalk, and Southern California Hospitals at Hollywood and Culver City, have been recognized by Healthgrades as 2023 Patient Safety Excellence Award recipients.
With its award, Foothill Regional ranks among the top 10 percent of all short-term acute care hospitals, with the other four hospitals among the top 5 percent of all short-term acute care hospitals as evaluated by Healthgrades.

Los Angeles Community Hospital has received the Patient Safety Excellence Award for a second year in a row (2022-2023).
“This award is an affirmation of the consistent focus the leadership, medical staff, clinical and non-clinical employees at our East Los Angeles and Norwalk campuses have placed on quality of care and patient safety over the last five years, even during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Hector Hernandez, the hospital’s CEO. “This commitment to improving our quality and patient safety metrics has also resulted in Los Angeles Community Hospital earning four stars in CMS’s Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating system for two years in a row, placing us among the higher-rated hospitals in our community.” Learn more >>
And SCH-Hollywood and Culver City has now received the Patient Safety Excellence Award for six years in a row (2018-2023).
