The Eastern Connecticut Health Network Diabetes Prevention Program, offered through the Diabetes Wellness Center, has been awarded the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) full recognition for another five years.

To ensure high quality and impact, organizations must show they meet CDC standards and effectively deliver a proven diabetes prevention lifestyle change program.

This designation will be noted on the CDC’s National Registry of Recognized Diabetes Prevention Programs website so those searching for lifestyle change programs in the Connecticut area will be able to find the Diabetes Wellness Center. This will bring increased visibility to ECHN, and its programs, and in turn fewer cases of type 2 diabetes, which helps build a healthier community.
